Matthew Bryan is a score composer and sound artist living in Austin, Texas. While living in Vermont he started recording his own music, a synergy of pop, electronic, and textural music, while studying audio production online through Berklee Boston. In 2006 Bryan moved to Austin and began establishing relationships with local filmmakers as an actor, dramatist, and sound-all writer and technician. He has since scored a number of commercials, promotional videos, and art pieces in and for the Central Texas region.
Since arriving in Austin, Matthew Bryan has worked in collaboration with Penguin Group (USA), the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, Austin Studios, the Texas Filmmakers' Production Fund, the Mexicarte Museum of Austin, and Blue Whale Studios, Inc (Boston).
Abounding from both a visual arts and musical family, Bryan continues to approach music as a visual aesthetic through explorations in film scoring, sound designing, and active listening. He is currently working in collaboration with B.S. Powell on the feature film Barge.
